Safe, Just Communities

Every neighborhood deserves to be safe. Dr. McCraney champions public safety investments, accountability, and crime prevention programs.

What I Believe

  • Public safety requires both effective policing and community trust
  • Accountability and transparency make policing stronger, not weaker
  • Prevention and intervention programs reduce crime and save lives
  • Every neighborhood deserves the same level of protection and responsiveness

What I've Done & Will Continue

  • Approved over $1M for a new LMPD headquarters and wellness center for first responders
  • Invested thousands of dollars in crime prevention programs
  • Supported violence prevention and intervention programs
  • Will continue pushing for reforms that build trust while keeping communities safe

Affordable, Stable Housing

Everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. Dr. McCraney secured $80M+ for housing programs including down-payment assistance and home repairs.

What I Believe

  • Housing is a foundation for everything else—jobs, health, education
  • We need more affordable options at every price point
  • Seniors and long-time residents shouldn't be priced out of their neighborhoods
  • People experiencing homelessness need services, not just enforcement

What I've Done & Will Continue

  • Secured $40M for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund
  • Funded $32M for permanent supportive housing with services
  • Supported $8M for down-payment assistance and home repairs
  • Will keep fighting for housing investments that stabilize neighborhoods

Better Infrastructure

Roads, drainage, sidewalks, and streetlights that work. Dr. McCraney secured funding for Westport Road and Herr Lane improvements.

What I Believe

  • Every neighborhood deserves functioning infrastructure
  • Drainage problems and flooding shouldn't be ignored
  • Safe sidewalks and lighting make neighborhoods more walkable
  • Traffic safety around schools, hospitals, and busy corridors is essential

What I've Done & Will Continue

  • Secured funding for Westport Road and Herr Lane improvements
  • Worked with MSD to resolve drainage issues across District 7
  • Partnered with Lyndon on sidewalk projects
  • Will continue advocating for District 7 infrastructure priorities

Jobs & Small Business

Good jobs and thriving small businesses for everyone. Dr. McCraney brings her own small business experience to policy decisions.

What I Believe

  • Small businesses are the backbone of our neighborhoods
  • Economic development should benefit local residents and businesses
  • City contracts should be accessible to minority- and women-owned firms
  • Incentives should be tied to real outcomes for our community

What I've Done & Will Continue

  • Serve on the Labor & Economic Development Committee
  • Work on the Equity in Contracting and Procurement Task Force
  • Bring my own small business experience to policy decisions
  • Will keep pushing for accountability in economic development deals
