Since 2019, Dr. McCraney has delivered real results for District 7 and all of Louisville.

Housing & Homelessness

Through her advocacy and participation on the ARP Housing Task Force, Dr. McCraney helped secure over $80 million in housing investments:

  • $40 million for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to expand and protect affordable housing options across Louisville.
  • $32 million for permanent supportive housing with wrap-around services for residents experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
  • $7.5 million for renovation of affordable housing units to keep existing homes safe, livable, and affordable.
  • $1.5 million for outdoor safe space operations to move people out of unsafe encampments and connect them to services.
  • $8 million for down-payment assistance and home repair to help families buy homes and maintain their properties.

District 7 Infrastructure

  • Secured $100,000 in the Metro budget to improve portions of Westport Road in District 7.
  • Partnered with state representatives to bring in $350,000 for Herr Lane improvements and $250,000 for a traffic study near the new VA Medical Center.
  • Collaborated with MSD to resolve multiple drainage issues across District 7, reducing neighborhood flooding.
  • Arranged repairs to sidewalks, added new streetlights, and improved street signage to make walking and driving safer.
  • Partnered with the City of Lyndon to provide $60,000 toward a sidewalk project along Ormsby and LaGrange Road.

Government Accountability & Equity

  • Serves on key Metro Council committees—including Budget and Government Oversight & Audit—where she scrutinizes spending, asks hard questions, and ensures taxpayer dollars are used effectively.
  • Co-chairs the Metro Council Women's Caucus, elevating women's voices and priorities in Louisville city government.
  • Serves on the Equity in Contracting and Procurement Task Force, working to ensure fair access to city contracts for minority- and women-owned businesses.
  • Serves on the Juneteenth Jubilee Commission, helping guide Louisville's recognition of Juneteenth and related equity initiatives.

Leadership & Recognition

  • Represents more than 30,000 residents in eastern Jefferson County, including multiple suburban cities and neighborhoods in District 7.
  • Served as Majority Caucus Chair and President Pro-Tem (2023-2024), demonstrating leadership and the trust of her colleagues.
  • Known on the Council as a prepared, data-driven legislator who consistently sponsors and supports measures to improve quality of life in Louisville.
  • Recognized by The Kentucky Gazette (2022) as a Notable Woman in Kentucky Politics and Government.

  • Initiated I-264 WB ramp debris cleanup with Another Way Program
  • See Something | Say Something Initiative - Weekly district drives to discover needed repairs
  • Hosted neighborhood cleanup behind Brownsboro Rd. businesses
  • Notified KYTC about eight road signs needing repair
  • Worked with St. Matthews to replace damaged Warnock Park signage
  • Wrote legislation to regulate dump trucks with trash haulers
  • Worked with Codes & Regulations to renovate three neighborhood eyesores

Communication to Constituents
